Since the age of 15, I have always worked alongside studying no matter what kind of job it was, I always thought it was important to make sure you have that sense of security and to always find somewhere you can learn skills – it doesn’t always have to be university! A lot of completely different types of jobs have so many different skills that can help you not just in day to day life but also in your dream job.
My first job was in a hotel restaurant and I had worked as a waitress up until I was 18. This meant that I had to have the confidence to speak to people all of the time. A huge part of hospitality jobs include teamwork and from experience, if a film set didn’t have any teamwork, then they would have nothing at all.
My current part-time job is a little different to my previous jobs, I am currently a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. This job is extremely hands on and you have to be a courageous and hard-working person to take on any kind of job like this. I feel like this job, most definitely helps me when I come on to set and become the confident version of myself I can be.
