Nationwide Commercial

A few days before shooting this Nationwide Commercial for university, I had been asked by the Producer (Trisha Mistry) if I could be a runner on the second day of shooting. I, in fact, had work on this day (a job on the side) but I knew how important this could be for me and how amazing it would look on my CV! So, I took the opportunity straight away, took on the role and had an amazing time with an amazing crew.

On this shoot, I overcame some new challenges as there was an actor who was under the age of 16. This meant that there was a lot of new rules that I had not worked with before including maximum hours that underage actors can work for, them having to be in a completely seperate room from all of the other cast and crew and for them to have one specific crew member (usually the 3rd AD) with them at all times. It was a good experience for the future to have now worked on set with child actors.

Rebecca was one of my runners on the Nationwide Shoot. As she is also a part of the AD Department in film school she is well experienced and knew what I wanted of her when she stepped onto set. She was professional and effiecient when it came to working on set. She had taken a load of stress off of my back due to her on set presence. Which got me through the day easier!

Jack Barlow, 1st AD.
